At Alert Level 2, all Carrfields businesses are open and operating. Through every step of the way we are ensuring that we follow the Government’s rules and guidelines and MPI’s Safe Practice Guidelines
As New Zealanders we are all being asked to make sacrifices in the interests of saving lives of fellow Kiwis. We are all in this together and as a business we need to play our part. For our people, their families, our customers, and suppliers their health and wellbeing is our number one priority and we are working hard to ensure we can continue to deliver our products and services safely during this time. Below please find an update on the status of each of our businesses.
While at Alert Level 2, the safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers and community is a top priority. We are following MPI’s best practice guidelines and have put the following measures in place to keep everyone safe:
- PPE: Our teams will use approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while at work.
- Contact Tracing: We will collect contact details from all staff and visitors in line with contact tracing guidelines & store that information in a centralised contact register.
- Stricter cleaning and sanitation: All office and machinery touch points will be thoroughly and regularly cleaned, we’ll also be keeping cleaning logs of all areas.
- Social Distancing: Maintaining social distancing amongst our field and office teams when they’re at work.
Carrfields Livestock are operating as usual at Alert Level 2, albeit with a few changes to existing protocols.
Saleyards – Will open from 14 May, but you will need to sign in for contact tracing on arrival and maintain safe distancing of 1 metre. Hand sanitiser will be provided, we ask that you use this on arrival, thank you. Please also ensure that you sign out when you leave the premises. We would also like to encourage vendors not to attend sales to allow more room on site for purchasers – up to 100 people.
Livestock administration centres – Tuakau, Feilding & Cambridge offices will all be operating in the normal manner, your normal contacts are awaiting your call. Please be aware than when visiting our premises, we will be requiring your details for contact tracing and COVID-19 guidelines must be maintained.
For all your livestock sales and purchasing enquiries – Our team are all operating and have our full range of services available.
We will continue to support your key farming activities, and in the interest of clarity please be aware of the following protocols as per MPI Safe Practice Guidelines that we have introduced for this unique situation:
We are pleased to announce that 1 Range Street, Ashburton is now open to customers and suppliers.
Field staff are able to visit you on farm face to face, but will continue to adhere to social distancing, plus personal hygiene recommendations.
For your Ag chem needs, we are business as usual as we look to distribute product to meet your requirements.
In term of the supply of cereal seed, we have seen healthy orders and have stock to meet your requirements.

We are open and operating as we have been all the way through all alert levels. We are following all safety guidelines to ensure our staff and our customers are safe.
What we are doing:
- Our office, staff room facilities, ablution facilities and refuelling facilities are disinfected daily.
- Our operators are provided with disinfectant spray and are required to spray and wipe all machinery before and after use.
- Our team have been fully trained on safe hand washing protocols, safe distance practice and advised to avoid all unnecessary contact.
- Our administration team is back in the office and and are ready to answer any questions or queries you have.

For all your service requirements – Please contact either Rainer Irrigation in Ashburton, or the branch in Alexandra for service requirements. When arranging your service call-out, it will be discussed with you all specific COVID-19 protocols at your site, as well as our own requirements.
For all your sales enquiries – Our team are all operating as per usual. If you require a face-to-face catch up, we will contact you before visiting to discuss appropriate meeting protocols.

For all your sales enquiries – Our team are all operating but will contact you before visiting. If you are looking for urgent assistance, please contact your normal representative in the normal manner. All COVID-19 safe guidelines will be followed in the Dealership and in the field.
For all your Husqvarna and Walker mower needs – Sales and service will be operating as close to normal as possible. Winter service pick-ups and deliveries can be arranged for ride on mowers. Please adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines and sign in for contact tracing if visiting the Dealership.
With the move to Alert Level 2, CP Wool are now able to open and operate as usual.

Auctions and private sales – We are pleased that our weekly wool sales will begin again from next Thursday 21 May in Napier. All exporters based outside of the region will now be able to attend the auction due to travel restrictions reducing. We have a full roster to the end of the season. We fully appreciate that there is a backlog of wool to sell and are more than happy to work with you to achieve this.
