HORSCH: Specialty Machines for Spring Sowing

The machinery team at Carrfields are here to create precision in your farming practices with our large range of HORSCH products available. Contact us to arrange a visit to your farm for a machine demonstration or a personally tailored recommendation.

Primary Cultivation

The HORSCH Terrano MT is your go-to machine for primary cultivation. The Terrano, which is available in several versions, utilises a tine to work deep (10-20cm) into the soil, loosening up those winter crop paddocks that have been trampled by stock and possibly damaged due to pugging in wet conditions. The tines work to loosen this compacted soil while leaving it open to dry out or warm-up prior to planting your Spring varieties. Whether this is maize, sweetcorn, peas, Spring barley or Spring wheat, the Terrano is the ultimate choice.

For those of you that have managed to get a drier, slightly kinder winter, the HORSCH Joker RT is the ideal tool. The Joker utilizes discs to work shallow in the soil, and a roller to break clods and consolidate. These 52cm diameter discs are ideal for stubble cultivation, incorporation of catch crops and seedbed preparation, still spinning in the lightest of soils.

Crop Establishment

We don’t stop at cultivation though. Our HORSH products also cater for your crop establishment needs.

The HORSCH Maestro is the master of precision planting. The Maestro range is your most efficient planter, giving you the ability to accurately determine seed depth and distance from each other. Avoid over or under planting, keeping your crop density consistent and uniform across the entire crop. You can drill the slot, deposit the seed and cover it in one pass. Save on seed cost too, knowing exactly how much seed you are going to need per hectare.

The HORSCH Pronto range is your best option if you’re looking for less soil disruption. Ideal for a wide variety of sowing, the HORSCH Pronto allows for precise seed placement at a top operational speed, with a low horsepower requirement. The DiscSystem on a Pronto seeder has a 46cm disc diameter with high circumferential speed, mixing soil aggressively to produce fine soil on a level seedbed.

For our farmers on very flat country, like the Canterbury plains, who enjoy precision through simplicity, the HORSCH Cruiser meets your needs. The Cruiser uses a simple tine to spread and level straw and create a stale seedbed.

Direct Drilling

Trying to save costs on cultivation or sowing straight into pasture? The HORSCH Avatar is the direct drill for the job. Incorporating the SingleDisc seed coulter, the HORSCH Avatar has a wide range of applications, working in stoney, heavy or clay soils. Minimizing surface disturbance protects the soil from moisture loss and erosion, increasing soil organic matter content.

Spraying

HORSCH is not only for cultivation and planting. The HORSCH Leeb sprayers are an extensive range of trailed, mounted and self-propelled tools, all with innovative features that deliver optimal crop protection. The highly adaptable dynamic boom control system and nozzle selection control allow for highly precise spray application in all conditions. HORSCH Leeb boom control is designed to constantly adapt the profile of the boom to ground contours and therefore maintain the right application height above the crop. This combined with active nozzle switching control enables the boom to operate as low as 30cm above the crop, virtually eliminating any drift.

From the Leeb AX with a tank capacity of 4000 litres and boom lengths of 18-30m, to the Leeb LT with a 5000-litre tank and boom lengths from 18-45m, the LEEB range has options to cover all your crop protection needs.
