Congratulations to Sir David Fagan who received a Knight Companion of the New Order of Merit on the 2016 New Year’s honours list, for services to shearing.
A 16-time Golden Shears champion and holder of 10 world records, the former shearing contractor and farmer is a great supporter of CP Wool and the Just Shorn™ wool carpet range.

In speaking at the opening of CP Wool’s new Hastings national office and wool store recently, David recalled his start in shearing and how he couldn’t get a stand in his home town of Te Kuiti because he was considered too slow – so he headed south to Otama where he got his first break. The rest, as they say, is history and David went on to win hundreds of speed shear events in the pursuing years.
