Agrono-News July 2020
Welcome to our newsletter, Agrono-News, from Carrfields Grain and Seed

Welcome

As we officially welcome summer, we get ready to farewell what has been a unique 2020.

Although we’ve had our challenges, we continue to see strong demand for New Zealand grown product, so have been proactive over the last couple of months with our international customers firming up autumn production as our reputation grows.

OUR TEAM
To contact your local rep to secure your autumn production early, so that you can focus on the upcoming harvest visit Our Team:

The season has been relatively kind with rainfall being the obvious factor which is lacking in some areas which may result in a later season.  We are also in that riskier time of year when weather patterns are uncertain, as we unfortunately saw last year.  With that in mind, the AonAgri team came into the office and had a discussion around crop insurance protection as some of our growers look to mitigate risk.  Please talk to your local rep if you wish to talk with any of the AonAgri team.

LIVESTOCK
In terms of creating value for our farmers, we have some fantastic initiatives within the Carrfields Group. Carrfields Livestock have just launched their new ‘Lamb Plan’ product plus NZ Wagyu grazing opportunity.  For more detail on how you can achieve great results while diversifying your revenue streams with Carrfields Livestock click on Livestock:

NEW ZEALAND NATURAL FIBRES
In terms of innovation, we’ve also seen great progress being made on the hemp decortication plant installation which will manufacture and process hemp fibre.  We look forward to being able to showcase this plant with our hemp growers in due course. WHO’S NEW?
We continue to see positive change as our team grows with Racheal Robinson coming on board to help build the North Canterbury region.  We also have Logan Tasker join the team this week to strengthen our pastoral presence in Mid Canterbury.  Jimmy Martin has also been appointed as Operations Manager, following the departure of Rere Keefe in October. We have also bid farewell to Craig Harrison, Grain Trader, but are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Derriman to this role who will look to start early in the New Year.

We hope you manage to spend quality time with friends and family over the Christmas period and we look forward to a prosperous harvest in 2021.

See you then!
